Overview

Trefoil Interiors were approached to tender to return a 1240sq m of office block in Treforest back to new. This two storey office block in prime location to the M4 in Treforest was in much need of updating to attract new potential tenants to the area. Trefoil Interiors was awarded the contract after going through a tender process to show how they handle the project as well as meeting clients budget and requirements. The project included carrying out full removal of ceilings, partitioning, tea points and toilets on two floors (10 in total). All electrics and boilers were stripped out and replaced in keeping with new regulations.

Trefoil Interiors after stripping out the carpet tiles, palletised the old tiles and sent them o_ to be recycled. The old ceiling tiles went through Armstrong for recycling. All other materials were taken away to be recycled through a licensed waste disposal company. After all the initial work, Trefoil Interiors installed new raised access floor in parts with new under floor tracking system, new _re barrier systems, _re alarms and intruder alarm throughout the premises. Trefoil then decorated the premises, carpeted with new stair nosing’s, installed new toilet cubicle systems and tiling to toilets.

Before any of the works above commenced on site Trefoil Interiors put together design schemes to the client showing products and finishes, to meet with clients approval and budget. The new carpet tiles specified were from Burmatex carpets in the “rainfall range”. The uniformed patterned carpet tile is a multilevel loop product which encompasses changes of tone in varying proportions throughout, resulting in an all over effect of subtlety combined with soft angles. These characteristics ensure that each installation appears slightly different from the last and is suitable for all manner of installations and interiors.

It was not a straightforward 10 week fitout programme, as in February Storm Dennis hit with extreme weather. The River Taff which passed by the premises burst it’s bank and surrounding areas were flooded making access to the site a bit of a challenge. Luckily, the premises didn’t get flooded, but our outside locker cabins and welfare office did get hit, meaning stock and tools had to be replaced. Works were still completed on time by Trefoil Interiors for the client.
