Cardiff International Pool & Gym

Trefoil Interiors were invited to look at the current setup within the iconic Cardiff International Pool. Upon arrival it was clear the current setup wasn’t working for the staff or customer. On the right upon entrance was the main booking in reception and the main exit route from the premises. Reception desk operators where also in charge of looking after the confectionery counter diagonally from the main reception. In turn this created a backlog for customers waiting to be served at both counters.

Our design department looked at the issues and came up with a solution of enlarging the confectionery counter which was directly in front of the customer upon entering the premises. This counter was then designed to function as three counters in one. The main focal section was to welcome and book in visitors. The second section to the side was a new hot food pizza counter, which also had cleaning facilities to the rear of the counter. This section allowed for quick access to the main commercial kitchen door behind the reception. A new convenient dining area was also created in the open plan adjacent to this section. The third section was a new grab and go section which served snacks and fresh coffee. This section was a very visible area for customers before leaving the premises.
